Dharamshala: Emphasising that trust and ready to help for others’ wellbeing as the basis of human existence, His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Thursday began a three-day teachings on ‘Je Tsonkhapa’s Song of the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment’, at the Tsuglagkhang, main temple in Dharamshala.
The teaching is being conferred primarily for people from Southeast Asia at the request of the Tibetan Buddhist Center, based in Singapore.
Around 3,500 people, including Buddhist devotees from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore are attending the three-day teachings.
In his introductory address, His Holiness said we as human beings should use our ability to think, examine and investigate problems with long-term visions.

His Holiness said we must utilize and follow a realistic approach of looking at various issues from different angles, so that one will get a clear picture of the problem. But in order to follow the realistic path, one must have a full knowledge of the reality, His Holiness added.
His Holiness also said human beings are bound to face unhappiness and pain, but to challenge these problems with a calm state of mind is the key thing.
Speaking to the Chinese Buddhist devotees, His Holiness said he always consider Chinese Buddhists as the senior student of Lord Buddha and follower of Buddhist traditions.
His Holiness said: “I am fully recovered, but I still need more rest.”
His Holiness said 15 to 20 minutes would be devoted to questions and answer session. The teachings are held in two sessions – morning session from 9:30 – 11:00 and in the afternoon from 1:00 – 3:30.
The teachings are in Tibetan and translated into English, Korean, Chinese and Japanese on FM channels.
The teachings will go on till Saturday, 27 September.
