His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Visit France

Dharamshala: At the invitation
of Ocean de Sagesse, an association of three Buddhist Centers-based in
France, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will pay a historic visit to Nantes
in western France, where he will deliver a lecture and series of
teachings.

During his stay in Nantes, His Holiness will deliver a public talk on
“Peace Through Inner Peace” at the Zenith Nantes Metropole on 15
August.
From 16 – 19 August, His Holiness will give five-day teachings
on commentaries from Nagarjuna’s “Treatise on the Middle Way,
Nagarjuna’s Bodhichitta Commentary (Jangchup Semdrel and Summary
Teaching on the Causes of Enlightenment of Nagarjuna’s Precious
Garland”.
On the morning of 20 August, His Holiness will confer the
“Quintessential Collection of the Inner Siddhis (Thuk-Drup Yang-Nying
Kun-Tue)” from the Fifth Dalai Lama’s Secret Teachings.
According to the organizers: “The first visit of the Dalai Lama
to the West of France will be a great occasion for students and
practitioners of Buddhism as well as for everyone receptive to His
Holiness’ message – an opportunity for people to increase their
knowledge of Buddhism and to deepen their spiritual commitment.”
The three Buddhists centers – Dashang Vajradhara Ling, Pel
Drukpa’i Chotshok and the Centre d’Etudes de Chanteloube – in
co-ordination with the Federation du Bouddhisme Tibetain, the Bureau du
Tibet and the French authorities at national, regional and local
levels, are organising the event.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama left here this morning for a 12-day visit to France, which begins 12 August.
