Himachal Environmental Society Marks His Holiness’ Birthday

Dharamshala: The Himachal
Environment and Landscape Protection Society (HELPS) in collaboration
with the Tibetan Welfare Office of Dharamshala, today hosted a flower
show and a painting competition at Tsuglagkhang, main temple, to mark
the 73rd birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Phayul reported
Tuesday.

Students from five surrounding schools participated in the painting competition on environmental protection.
Colonel R.C. Dewan, the president of HELPS, received Kalon Tripa
Samdhong Rinpoche as the chief guest, who presided over the event.
Monetary prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners.
At the end of the flower competition, Colonel K.B. Thapa and
Kishori Lal presented the best flower of the show to Kalon Tripa, as a
sign of respect and goodwill.
