Dharamshala: As a part of exchange between the members of the UK All Party Parliamentary Group for Tibet and the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, organized by the Tibet Society, a six-member delegation of Tibetan MPs, who arrived London yesterday, will over the next five days interact with their UK counterparts at numerous events.
The delegation comprising Pema Jungney, Dolma Tsering, Dawa Phunkyi, Ven. Yungdrung Gyaltsen, Gyalnor Tsewang and Tenzing Choeden will interact with a whole host of UK parliamentarians – including Harry Cohen, Norman Baker, Fabian Hamilton, Emily Thornbury and others – at events ranging from workshops to luncheon and dinner receptions.
Apart from witnessing the proceedings of House of Commons and shadowing UK MPs on constituency work, the delegation is also expected to meet Deputy Speaker Sir Alan Hazlehurst.
On 6 July, the delegation will be the chief guest of a cultural show organized by the Tibetan Community of UK at Conway Hall, marking the 73th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
This is the second time a delegation of Tibetan Parliament has visited UK. As a part of exchange, a UK parliamentary delegation is schedule to visit here in the first week of October.
