Free medical camp to mark His Holiness’ birthday

Dharamshala: On the 72nd birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, a free medical camp for the visually impaired and physically challenged was organized at Shri Yogiraj Samadhi Sathal, Aminagar Sara, 45 km from Meerut city in UP.
The camp was organized under the banner of Kalyan Karoti Meerut jointly with Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhay Viklank Jan Sansthan New Delhi and District Drishtihinta Nivaran Samiti Bhagpat.
District Magistrate, Mr G S Priyadarshan was the chief guest, and also present were Brigadier M. Johar and Dr. Rawat.
The medial camp started at 9 a.m. with the chief guest lighting the lamp, followed by prayers for the long and healthy life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

The patients were registered in three separate rooms for eye, ear and handicapped patients respectively with three to four doctors assigned in each room.
A photo exhibition on Tibet cause was also displayed as a part of the camp.
Out of total 520 registered patients, 265 patients were provided tricycle, 48 patients with hearing aids, 47 calipers, 38 wheel chair, 12 pair of crutches, 8 walking sticks, 5 blind sticks. Another 36 polio-infected children will be operated.
Dr. M. Israr and Dr. Satish examined 324 visually impaired patients and were given free medication. Dr. V.K Malik with Dr. M. Israr successfully operated 33 visually impaired patients and 110 were furnished with eyeglasses. Another 26 patients were given concession on eyeglasses.
Total of 844 physically challenged and visual impaired patients were provided with free medical aid.
The camp was successfully concluded with selfless contribution from Mr.Anurag Dublish of Kalyan Karoti, B.S.C Johar, Mrs.Sunder Bakshi, Dr.Neera Saksena, R.P.Goyal, Neeta Dublish, Dr.Sarojni Vasan, Akbar Alam, Namgyal of India Tibet Coordination Office, Dr. D.K.Pal the National Co-Convener of Core Group for Tibet Cause, Krishanbal Sharma, Babita Chauhan, Ram Kanta, Anita Singh, V.P.Tyagi, B.D.Gupta, Dr.Lobsang Yeshi from Tibetan Medicine and Astrology Meerut and social workers Mr.Ajay Sothi, Harsh Jain, Abhishek Jain and Sakal Jain Society and full cooperation from the people of Aminagar Sarai.
