Tibetan Delek Hospital conferred with Anadi Kamal award

Dharamshala:The prestigious Anadi-Kamal award for humanitarian service was conferred to Tibetan Delek Hospital by the Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI), a New Delhi-based registered health care organization, at a ceremony held on 11 September in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
VHAI has a membership of 27 state voluntary health associations, linking together more than 4500 health and development institutions in India.
Speaking on the award ceremony, Delek hospital’s administrator, Mr Dawa Phunkyi said ” the honor accorded to Tibetan Delek Hospital is deeply appreciated by Kesang Y Takla, Health Kalon of Central Tibetan Administration and also by all the staff members of the hospital.”
Mr Dawa lauded the honor in recognition to the hospital’s 36 years of catering much-needed health care services to the communities in Dharamshala, adding, it will strengthen their commitment to provide quality health care services and motivate their staff’s dedication to live up to the hospital’s mission.

The achievement of Delek hospital has resulted from collective and consistent effort our former and present staff members, and also many years of support from donor agencies and friends around the world, he said.
He further said, “we at the Tibetan Delek Hospital are committed to serving all who come to us, irrespective of their race, religion, gender, or country of origin. We promise treat all people in a compassionate and respectful manner, and pledge to give the finest treatment commensurate with our resources, regardless of our clients’ social or financial status.”
Since its inception in 1971, the Tibetan Delek Hospital has grown into one of the exile community’s premier medical institutions with a well-earned reputation for excellence in providing curative and preventive health services to all the sectors of the society in general and to the Tibetan communities under holistic system of allopathic medicine.
The hospital has 37 full time staff members in addition to the administrator, chief medical officer, and volunteer doctors.
It has eye care, dental clinic, denture services, pharmacy, inpatient, TB control clinic, public health, laboratory and X-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy clinic.
