Mahatma Gandhi Needs to be Re-invented, Says His Holiness

Dharamshala (TibetNet): Addressing the 57th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Pathankot yesterday, His Holiness the Dalai Lama said that the Mahatma Gandhi needs to be reinvented in today’s world because his principles and ideas of truth and non-violence are more relevant now.
He also said that today people around the world are finding his ideas of truth and non-voilence more encouraging and beneficial in living a peaceful life.
On Sino-Indian relations, His Holiness said that both nations are emerging as economic powers in the world and as such both should learn the positive side of the other.While India can learn from China in producing cheap goods and China can learn from India how to maintain a peaceful society.
His Holiness stressed on the importance of maintaining India’s spiritual traditions. Inner peace can be attained and achieved through spiritualism only, he added.
Filmstar-turned politician Vinod Khanna also spoke on the occasion.
