Kalon Tripa to Leave for Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia

Dharamshala (TibetNet): Tomorrow Kalon Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche will set off for an official visit to Nalanda, Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia from 10 to 26 February 2006.
In Nalanda, Kalon Tripa will participate in an international seminar on the heritage of Nalanda slated on 12 February. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is also expected to participate in the seminar too.
Kalon Tripa will fly to Australia on 15 February, where he will visit Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart. In Sydney, Rinpoche will inaugurate and address the second Tibet Conference of Australia on 18 February, followed by a press conference and media interview in the afternoon.
He will also participate in a fund raising event organised by Mr. Steve Kellelea and his associates who are old friends of the Tibetan. They are raising funds for the Central Tibetan Relief Fund under the Home Department of the Central Tibetan Administration.
In Hobart, Kalon Tripa is expected to speak on non-violence in an interfaith gathering. He will meet members of the parliamentary group for Tibet and the Tibetans during his 2-day visit to New Zealand.
In Indonesia, Kalon Tripa is expected to address the inter-religious conference organised by the Wahit Institute.
Kalon Tripa will be back on 26 February.
