Peace Concert in Support of His Holiness in Australia

Dharamshala: His Holiness the
Dalai Lama has left here this morning for Delhi, from where he will fly
to Australia for five-day visit from 11 – 15 June.
A musical concert for Tibet – peace and compassion – will highlight
a galaxy of star performers, including Grammy winner Tibetan flute
maestro Ngawang Khechog, monks of Gyutoe monastery and vocalist Katie
Noonan in support of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visit to Australia.
The star artists’ gala night at the City Recital Hall, Angel
Place in Sydney, on 15 June, will be a fusion of world, pop, classical
and contemporary music combined with colour and images, the organising
committee said.
His Holiness will give a five-day discourse on the Middle
Stages of Meditation (gomrim barpa) at The Dome, Sydney Showground,
Olympic Park. The teachings will be translated into English, Chinese,
Vietnamese and Indonesian.
His Holiness will also confer an initiation of Avalokiteshvara (Buddha of Compassion).
