Dharamshala: The Central
Tibetan Schools Administration (CTSA), in collaboration with the
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), has started conducting a
series of orientation programmes for the Trained Graduate Teachers
(TGTs) at its training wing in New Delhi. The first phase of the
training for science teachers was held from 15 to 18 May.
The course for the mathematics teachers is underway, which started
today, 19 May, and go on till 22 May. This will be followed by courses
for the social science teachers from 10 to 12 June and English teachers
from 13 to 15 June.
Apart from teachers of the CTSA schools, 24 teachers from
schools including Tibetan Children’s Village, Tibetan Homes Foundations
and Sambhota are also participating in the orientation courses.
Last year, 33 teachers from the non-CTSA Tibetan schools
attended workshops on designing question papers and new syllabus for
teachers of Class X and XII conducted by CTSA in collaboration with
CBSE. The postgraduate teachers of economics and accountancy and
trained graduate teachers of science, mathematics and social science
attended the workshop which was quite a success and useful.
The Department of Education expressed its thankfulness to the
CTSA in inviting teachers from non-CTSA schools and hopes that such
programmes on professional development of teachers will greatly benefit
Tibetan teachers and students.
