Dharamshala: His Holiness the
Dalai Lama on Friday, 16 May, met with the board members of the Tibet
Initiative Deutschland, Germany, a largest Tibet support group.
His Holiness spoke on the growing public support and solidarity for
Tibet, since the recent peaceful demonstrations across Tibet in March.
Later, His Holiness the Dalai Lama drove to the Bochum town
hall, where he was received by Mayor of Bochum and signed Bochums
Golden Book.
On the same day, His Holiness the Dalai Lama met the media
persons, including Xinhua journalist at the city hall of Bochum where
His Holiness reiterated that the Tibetans are not seeking independence
but a genuine autonomy. His Holiness briefed them on the current
situation inside Tibet and the recent talks between His Holiness’
representatives and Chinese counterpart.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited Kindergarten St. Nikolaus
where he addressed the children on the importance of love, affection
and compassion. He said that the children are the future seed of the
world.
In the afternoon, His Holiness the Dalai Lama gave a public
talk on “Human Rights and Globalisation” in the West German city of
Bochum.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama called Sunday for greater
tolerance between the world’s major religions. Religion has too often
been at the root of conflicts, violence and bloodshed, His Holiness the
Dalai Lama told a gathering of 7,000 people in the southern German city
of Nuremberg.
His Holiness is expected to meet the nation’s Development Minister Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zuel today, 19 May.
