Mungod: On 6 July 2025, the Local Settlement Office hosted a grand celebration to mark the birth anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The event was attended by several invited Indian officials, including Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Shri Arbail Shivaram Hebbar as the Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner of Karwar Shrimati Lakshmi Priya as the Special Guest, and Mundgod Tehsildar Shri Shankar Goudi as the Guest of Honour. During the ceremony, commemorative tokens of appreciation were presented to the dignitaries.

As part of the celebrations, a complimentary luncheon was provided to the entire public. In addition, the Settlement Office sponsored a full day of meals for residents of the local elders’ home and a nearby school for children with disabilities. Sweet treats were also distributed to over 6,000 students and teachers across various local schools. This concludes the brief summary of the event’s activities.
