Leuven, Belgium: With the guidance and support from the Office of Tibet, Brussels, the Leuven branch of the Jamyang Lophel Tibetan Cultural and Language School organised a pictorial Ghoton Exhibition to commemorate the 90th Birthday of His Holiness the great 14th Dalai Lama on 8 June 2026.

The exhibition opened to students and members of the public at 9:30 a.m. Sakar Tashi, Head of the Leuven branch, welcomed the participants and explained the significance of the exhibition. In his remarks, he highlighted the profound gratitude Tibetans hold for His Holiness the Dalai Lama and reflected on his tireless efforts in promoting compassion, peace, and justice across the world.

The event began with the offering of long-life prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Following a short assembly, Sakar Tashi guided the students through the exhibition panels, explaining the historical background and significance of each photograph. The students showed keen interest in the exhibition with several raising thoughtful questions and many expressing admirations for the enduring legacy and contributions of His Holiness over the decades.

The exhibition also attracted certain number of visitors from the locality, who viewed the displays with great interest and appreciation.

The celebration concluded with students performing Ghu-yang, followed by other traditional cultural performances, adding a festive spirit to the occasion.

As part of the broader Ghoton celebrations marking the 90th Birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Jamyang Lophel Tibetan Cultural and Language Schools in Brussels, Antwerp, and Ghent also organised similar exhibitions and commemorative activities in their respective localities. The Ostend branch is scheduled to host its exhibition before the conclusion of the Ghoton celebrations in July.
