Dharamshala: The Department of Education, CTA today conducted selection interview to 25 shortlisted candidates for United World College(UWC) scholarship for the year 2019.
25 students from 10 different schools in India were shortlisted and called for Interview in two slots on April 6 and 7.
Ms. Gauri Bhure who heads the UWC India conducted the Interview. She is also the Asia Pacific Representative of UWC.
Ms Bhure mentioned that shortlisting 25 students from 132 applicants gave the panellists a hard time as many of the students were brilliant.
Post the interview, she also noted that all shortlisted candidates were highly qualified and choosing a few finalists among them would be a tough job. However, the selection must be based on the available fund for the scholarship.
“We are thankful and grateful to UWC for providing scholarship to our Tibetan students every year. Last year 5 students were selected who are now attending UWC college namely in US, UK, Norway and Thailand,” said Sonam Sangmo, Scholarship and Sponsorship section, Department of Education, CTA.
The results will be announced in May end.
