Padrauna, UP: At the effort of Dr. Shubhlal Shah, Convener of Bharat Tibbat Samvad Manch, Kushinagar; apart from his medical profession taking care of musculoskeletal cases, he has also been actively involved in showcasing the wisdom of relation that India shares with Tibet. Towards this end along with the permission of Dr. Mamta Mani Tripathi, Principal, Udit Narayan PG College, an event of ‘A Day for Tibet’ entitled ‘Tibet’s factor in Sino-India’s relation’, was organized at Padrauna town which is 98 km east of Gorakhpur.
Speaking at the event and being the Chief Guest, Dr. C B Singh, Retired Professor of Geography at Udit Narayan PG College shared his associations with Tibetan scholars including Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche and Geshe Ngawang Samten that has given him a different perspective to dwell into the deeper understanding of Tibetan approach of practicing Indian values and its wisdom. He strongly urged the students to revisit these subjects and understand how India’s traditional wisdom of education has been preserved in Tibet for all these centuries.
Dr. Mamta Mani Tripathi, Principal, Udit Narayan PG College elaborated upon the theme of event and her experience of knowing India’s relation with Tibet at different academic and social pursuits. She categorically hinted upon the past and present situation of Tibet under the control of Chinese Communist Government and the efforts of Tibetan Administration in exile during these more than six decades in India. She expressed her happiness of not only able to organize this event at the campus where she was recently assigned as Principal but also honored to invite Dr. C B Singh, who had been phenomenal in the history of Udit Narayan PG College’s academics.
Dr. Sanjay Singh, Professor at Geography not only introduced the panel members but also convened the session with his professional expertise. With his introduction each and every speaker was honored with traditional scarves and garland of flower that followed the offering of lamps at the feet of Goddess of Wisdom, Saraswati Mata.
Dr. Shubhlal Shad and Dr. Girish Kumar Singh, Director, Safe Hands Advanced Life Care Institute Pvt. Ltd, both of them shared their perspectives in knowing the cultural and social boundaries of India with Tibet and ecological significance in this regard respectively.
The Coordinator for ITCO in his address profusely thanked the College, its administrative members including Madam Principal and her colleagues in making this historic visit possible at Padrauna. He presented his talk along with PPT from black and white of Tibet’s history to colored life of Tibetan people until 1950s when it falls prey to the expansionist Communist China.
Around 500 students along with faculty members especially from Geography and Political Studies Department have attended the session with Q&A at the end of session.
