
New Delhi: The Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM) convened its two-Day National Council Meeting in Shanti Gyan Niketan School, Goyla Dairy, Dwarka, New Delhi, from 28 to 29 June 2025 witnessing more than 150 Sangh Karyakarni from 22 states. The conclave served as a pivotal platform for national delegates and regional representatives to deliberate on the future course of action concerning Free Tibet and liberation of Kailash Mansarovar and secure India. The meeting was presided over in the esteemed presence of Dr. Indresh Kumar, Margdarshak of BTSM and a National Executive Member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). His guidance and insights set the tone for the Council’s deliberations and strategic resolutions.
The Inaugural Session of the National Council Meeting 2025 commenced with a warm welcome by Shri Pankaj Goyal, National General Secretary of Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM), who greeted delegates from across the country.
In his address, Shri Goyal expressed heartfelt gratitude to all Sangh Karyakarni for their unwavering dedication and commitment toward the organisation’s mission—freedom for Tibet and the liberation of Kailash Mansarovar. He emphasised the critical need for widespread public awareness to expose the deceptive policies and actions of the Chinese regime on the global stage.
Representative Jigmey Jugney of the Bureau Office of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama addressed the gathering by expressing gratitude to the revered Chief Guest, Dr. Indresh Kumar, whose visionary leadership gave birth to this noble organisation and continues to inspire our mission. For nearly 26 years, this organisation has stood as a bridge between the people of Bharat and Tibet, embodying the ancient bonds of friendship, spirituality, and mutual respect that have connected our civilisations for centuries.
He addressed that Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch has always supported in raising awareness about the Tibetan struggle for freedom and dignity, providing practical support to Tibetan traders and families, organising cultural exchanges and educational programs, advocating for Tibetan rights in various forums, extending humanitarian assistance during difficult times.
He thanked all the participants and for the ongoing commitment to this righteous cause. He expressed “His Holiness the Dalai Lama often says that compassion is not just a feeling, but a commitment to action and Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch is a living example of this teaching.”
During his address, Dr. Indresh Kumar strongly criticised the actions and global conduct of China, remarking that it is a nation detached from humanitarian values and a source of continual tension for many countries across the world. He also recognised the Central Tibetan Administration’s decision to dedicate the year from 6 July 2025 to 5 July 2026 as the “Year of Compassion”, in honour of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s lifelong dedication to global peace and nonviolence.
In solidarity, Dr. Indresh Kumar declared that the Bharat Tibbat Samanvay Manch (BTSM) would realign its organisational calendar around the theme of Karuna (compassion). He announced that a series of nationwide programs would be held throughout the year to raise awareness about the Tibetan cause and to pay tribute to the spiritual legacy and global contributions of His Holiness.
The valedictory session of the two-day event took place on 29 June at 3:00 PM. The session was graced by eminent dignitaries, including Dr. Indresh Kumar, Margdarshak, Shri R.K. Khrimey,National Convener (CGTC-I), Shri Wangdue Dorjee Tehor from the Tibetan Parliament in Exile as the Chief Guest, Shri Rupesh Kumar, Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarmi Sadasya, RSS, Swami Debankar, Swami Divyanand, Shri Sandeep Sehrawat, MLA and Shri Raj Kumar Khurana, founder managing director, Shanti Gyan Niketan School.
The program commenced with the ceremonial launch of the book “Budh Mahakumbh Yatra”, marking a moment of cultural and spiritual significance that set the tone for the session. The gathering reflected a harmonious blend of spiritual leadership and socio-political insight, underscoring the shared values of peace, dialogue, and unity.
Shri Wangdue Dorjee Tehor, a distinguished member of the 17th Tibetan Parliament in Exile, was invited as the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony. He began his address by ceremonially honouring the dignitaries with khatags—symbols of goodwill and respect—extending heartfelt appreciation and a warm welcome on behalf of the Tibetan people. He was later honoured with a traditional Hindu scarf (angavastram) and felicitated by Shanti Gyan Niketan School, recognising his unwavering dedication to the Tibetan cause and the enduring India–Tibet friendship. He extended deep appreciation to Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM), its executive body, and every dedicated member for their tireless support and unwavering commitment to the Tibetan cause.
He applauded the steadfast solidarity that Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM) has consistently demonstrated over the years, recognising the organisation’s pivotal role in amplifying the Tibetan voice and standing firmly beside the Tibetan people in their enduring struggle for identity, justice, and freedom.
He especially acknowledged BTSM’s unwavering presence during grassroots challenges—highlighting how the Manch has consistently stepped forward in times of need, notably supporting Tibetan sweater sellers during the harsh winter months when their seasonal businesses often face operational difficulties.
He highlighted the current situation in Tibet such as Colonial Boarding School, forceful shut down of Tibetan schools and shared the painful message from the self immolated Tibetan brothers and sisters inside Tibet. He further reflected upon the profound historical and cultural connections between India and Tibet.
He also highlighted the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile’s international advocacy, including the 8th and 9th World Parliamentarians’ Conventions on Tibet (WPCT) held in Washington D.C. (2022) and Tokyo (2025), along with outreach in Europe, the UK, Australia, Taiwan, and India to build global support for a peaceful resolution.
He also congratulated BTSM on the successful completion of 26th Anniversary, expressing hope that this bond of friendship and advocacy will continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
During the two-day National Council meeting, a significant structural enhancement was introduced with the creation of an additional post within the Manch’s working system. This development aims to enhance operational efficiency and ensure seamless execution of forthcoming initiatives.
The India Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO) contributed to the event by distributing Tibet-related books and brochures. Tibetan Settlement Officer Dorjee Tsering, India Tibet Coordination Office’s Coordinator Tashi Dekyi and Accountant Migmar Tsamchoe, Tibetan Regional Welfare Officer Ngodup Choephel and Regional Tibetan Women Association’s President Tashi Lhamo, accompanied by two staff also attended the two-day meeting.
