15th February, 2023: The Clean Upper Dharamshala Program (CUDP), undertaken by Tibetan Settlement Office, Dharamshala organised a monthly Cleanup drive at the Dalai Lama Temple’s circumambulation areas to embrace the good spirit of the upcoming Losar.

The Cleanup drive began at 9:30 am starting from the Temple main gate  with more than 50 Tibetan participants and 1 Indian Local from Bhagsu. Different associations like Tibetan Street Vendor Association, Tibetan Women Association (TWA), Tibetan Centre for Conflict Resolution and also from nearby monasteries like Gyuto Tantric Monastery and Gaden Choeling Nunnery School worked together to make this event a success.

More than 70 bags filled to the brim with garbage were collected from the targeted areas. All in all, satisfactory merits were earned on good Wednesday, not to mention the small collective effort to preserve our custom of tidying up temples and houses prior to Losar celebration.
