Dharamshala: On 25 June 2026, Parliamentarians Choedak Gyatso and Gonpo Dhundup continued their official visit to the Sonamling Tibetan Settlement in Ladakh. Accompanied by Dhundup Tsering, Vice-Chair of the Local Tibetan Assembly, and Karma Rinchen, Secretary of the Chief Representative Office (CRO) of Ladakh, the two Members of Parliament began their visit at Phodrang Gephel Ling.
During the visit, they paid their respects at and toured several monasteries, including Karma Drubgyud Choeling Monastery, Yungdrung Lhatse Bon Monastery, and Ruthog Lhundrup Choeding Monastery.
Later in the afternoon, the delegation visited the Chief Representative Office, the Local Tibetan Justice Commission, the Cooperative Office, the Health Center, the Leh-Jang Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement (BRDL), the Local Department of Religion and Culture, and the Leh branch of the Men-Tsee-Khang (TMAI).
Following these visits, the parliamentarians held a one-and-a-half-hour interactive session with the Standing Committee members at the Local Tibetan Assembly Hall, during which they responded to various questions and concerns.
Furthermore, the two MPs addressed several issues raised by the monasteries and organisations during the meeting, resolving many of them on the spot through appropriate measures. The remaining matters were duly noted and recorded for submission to the Standing Committee of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and the relevant departments for further consideration and necessary action.
