Tokyo: Ven. Hayashi Shuei, Former Principal of the Setagaya Gakuen School, along with the school headmaster, staff, and student representatives, visited Tibet House Japan on 30 January to express their solidarity with the Tibetans affected by the recent 7.1-magnitude earthquake in the region. Ven. Hayashi Shuei expressed sorrow over the disaster and prayed for the people suffering in the region and for a quick recovery of the situation.
The students of the Setagaya Gakuen School have organised fundraising activities for the people of Tibet. Along with the school staff, they visited the Tibet House to deliver the donations collected. The student Representative said, “This is a small amount of donation we have collected to show our solidarity with the Tibetans affected by the earthquake in Tibet.”
Dr Tsewang Gyalpo Arya, Representative of the Liaison Office of H.H. the Dalai Lama, thanked the staff and students of the Setagaya Gakuen school for their kind and sympathetic gesture to visit the Tibet House and for raising funds for the people in Tibet. Representative Arya updated them on the earthquake situation and informed the delegation that the earthquake was a man-made disaster and not a natural calamity. He attributed the disaster to the rampant dam buildings and mining activities by the CCP regime.
At the request of the school, Dr Arya delivered a brief talk on Tibetan history, the Chinese occupation, the current situation, and the way ahead. He also talked about the concept of SEE-learning, Social, Emotional, and Ethical learning.
H.H. the Dalai Lama has visited Setagaya Gakuen School earlier three times and delivered teachings and talks to the staff and the students.
