Delhi: As part of the 90th birthday celebrations of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) presented a cultural show organised by Tibet House at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, on 11 July 2025.
This special event, held as a tribute to His Holiness’s lifelong mission of promoting peace, compassion, and the oneness of humanity, brought together dignitaries from India and abroad, scholars, artists, and students—including young learners from Shikshantar School, Gurugram.
Tibet House marked the occasion by launching a new book and screening the inspiring documentary film The Wisdom of Happiness by Barbara Miller, Philip Delaquis, and Manuel Bauver. A photo book titled Dalai Lama, featuring powerful images captured by Bauver, was also introduced.
During the ceremony, the Director of TIPA delivered a heartfelt welcome address, expressing deep gratitude to Tibet House for inviting the institute. TIPA artists then performed Dance from the Roof of the World, a unique and vibrant showcase of traditional Tibetan music and dance. Their performance captivated the audience and conveyed the essence of Tibetan culture to both Indian and international guests.
To commemorate the event, Tibet House offered traditional scarves and souvenirs to the TIPA artists. In return, TIPA presented tokens of appreciation to the chief guest and other dignitaries, symbolising respect and friendship.
Through this cultural performance, TIPA not only honoured His Holiness the Dalai Lama but also helped raise awareness and appreciation of Tibet’s rich heritage on an international stage.
