Dharamshala: After the successful conclusion of the 26th Shoton Festival in Mundgod, Karnataka, South India, the dance troupe (TIPA) had a stopover in Bengaluru before returning to Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, Northern India.
As requested by the Chief Representative Officer, Bengaluru, local Tibet Support Groups and Tibetans living in the city, TIPA showcased a two hour long cultural performances at Prabath Kalawarda Theatrical Auditorium.
The colorful performances was enjoyed and greeted with rapture by everyone in the packed auditorium, where some even squashed themselves to witness the show. The Chief Guest, Shri. Kapil Mohan, IAS, Chief Secretary, Department of Energy and Tourism, Dr. K.J. Parshtham, Shri. Shandra Kumar, and some local dignitaries were all equally appreciative of the performing genres presented that evening.
Dhundup Tsering, Director, TIPA, in his address ahead of the performances, thanked Asst. Artistic Director (TIPA) as well as the artistes for their tireless efforts throughout the ten-day Shoton festival and performances in Bengaluru. He expressed appreciation to people who supported TIPA in all possible way in making the South India tour program a success.
“It was heart-warming to bring not just joy and smile to the audience through our performances but also brought awareness about the rich Tibetan cultural heritage to the young Indian audience who appealed for more such cultural tours.” Dhundup Tsering remarked as the program concluded.
