
Dharamshala: Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) warmly welcomed a delegation from the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) on the evening of 14 November 2025. The delegation included officials from the Department of Home, Settlement Officers from various Tibetan settlements, agriculture extension officers, representatives of Tibetan cooperative societies, and the Chief Representative Officers of the South Zone, Shimla, Ladakh, and North Zone.
The visit underscored the vital contributions of Settlement Officers and cooperative personnel in advancing the goals of the Central Tibetan Administration and ensuring the welfare of Tibetans across all settlements.
In a special gesture of support, Home and Inter-State Border Affairs Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Mama Natung, long regarded as a steadfast friend of the Tibetan community, joined the delegation during his visit to Dharamshala. At the invitation of the Department of Home, CTA, the Minister attended a cultural program hosted by TIPA.
The program commenced with a formal reception in TIPA’s main hall, followed by a vibrant presentation of traditional Tibetan music and dance. The performances highlighted the rich artistic heritage preserved by TIPA and reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to safeguarding Tibetan cultural traditions.
During the gathering, the Director of TIPA delivered welcome remarks and provided an overview of the institute’s mission and ongoing initiatives. Representatives from the Department of Home, Settlement Officers, and cooperative societies expressed their appreciation for TIPA’s sustained efforts to preserve, promote, and transmit Tibetan performing arts to future generations.
TIPA also reiterated its priority to recruit and train new students as part of its cultural preservation mandate. Information regarding upcoming admissions was shared, and Settlement Officers were encouraged to support outreach efforts within their regions to ensure strong participation.
Shri Mama Natung addressed the gathering, after which the Secretary of the Department of Home, Palden Dhondup, offered a traditional Tibetan ceremonial scarf. The cultural performances by TIPA artists were warmly received and brought immense joy to all attendees.
The Department of Home concluded the event with words of gratitude, acknowledging the presence of the distinguished guests and commending the artists for their contribution to a meaningful and successful program.
