Dharamshala: More and more Tibetan communities across India, especially the Tibetan Buddhist monasteries have been making outstanding contributions to India’s fight against coronavirus. Earlier this month, President Dr Lobsang Sangay had issued an appeal to all CTA functionaries across the world and individuals to donate towards the respective state and district COVID-19 relief fund.

In support of the Government of India’s initiative in curbing the viral disease as well as to provide relief for those affected by the coronavirus, Tibetans and Tibetan monasteries in Dharamshala have this week donated over 15 lakh in total to the PM CARES fund, CM’s COVID-19 relief fund and District Kangra COVID-19 relief fund.

The Office of late Dr Yeshi Dhonden, Padma Shree Awardee and former physician to His Holiness the Dalai Lama also donated Rs 4 lakh to PM CARES fund, 2 lakh to District COVID-19 fund and 1 lakh to CM’s COVID-19 fund.

Kirti Monastery donated Rs 1 lakh each to PM CARE Fund, CM’s COVID-19 Fund, and District Kangra COVID-19. Namgyal Monastery donated Rs 1 lakh each to PM CARE Fund, CM’s COVID-19 Fund, and District Kangra COVID-19.

The Institute of Buddhist Dialectic donated Rs 1 lakh each to PM CARE Fund, CM’s COVID-19 Fund, and District Kangra COVID-19. Nechung Monastery donated Rs 1 lakh each to PM CARE Fund, CM’s COVID-19 Fund, and District Kangra COVID-19.

Gyutoe Monastery donated Rs 1 lakh each to PM CARE Fund, CM’s COVID-19 Fund, and District Kangra COVID-19.
