Dharamshala: On 28 and 29 November 2024, the Tibetan Medicare System section of the Department of Health (DoHe) organised a two-day virtual meeting. The meeting was held to discuss strategies to improve enrolment and target setting for the financial year 2025-26 with presentations. In view of the meeting being held remotely, the meeting was organised into series of four sessions. On 28 November, the meeting was held zone wise and one session of virtual training was held with newly appointed staff was held on 29 November.
The meeting started with key notes from the Health Secretary Jampa Phuntsok who gave an overview about the TMS program and its contribution towards promoting health security of Tibetans. Following that the TMS section head Sonam Dhondup highlighted the programs’ performance till FY 2024-25 as well as its overall performance. DTR hospital, Executive officer Sonam Lhamo shared her experience about TMS enrolment and membership drive to the participants which was shortly followed by TMS staff Tashi Tsomo’s presentation on DoHe’s 2025-26 TMS enrolment target setting along with the TMS campaign budget allocation for the respective settlements and Health Centers for the current year. The Secretary of the department was present throughout the sessions along with the respective Tibetan Settlement’s Officers, Executive officers of the health facilities and its nurses. A total 62 staffs participated in this virtual meeting.
