
New Delhi: Core Group for Tibetan Cause – the apex body of all India Tibet Support Groups (TSGs) convened a meeting of Tibet Support Group’s office-bearers on Saturday 20 July 2019 at Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in New Delhi.
The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Choney Tsering, a staff of India Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO).
Shri R. K. Khrimey, National Convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause presided over the meeting with the presence of Mr. Karma Choeying, Secretary, Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Shri Khrimey in his introductory remarks briefed the members about Core Group for Tibetan Cause, current scenario of Tibetan issue and the purpose to convene the meeting.
The TSGs office bearers present in the meeting introduced themselves, their organizations and various activities carried out by them to aware the general Indian masses about Tibet and to strengthen the Tibetan movement in India. The meeting discussed in length regarding reinventing and reactivating the Tibet Support Groups in India in order to strengthen and solve the issue of Tibet peacefully. It also emphasised to build better coordination between Tibet Support Groups all over India and Core Group for Tibetan Cause. The members in unison agreed to work in coordination with each other. They laid down plans and strategy on strengthening the activities of TSGs movement in India far more actively. The respective members exchanged their views and opinions; gave suggestions and took decisions for the active involvement of various Tibet Support Groups in India for the good cause of Tibet.
Mr. Gonpo, the staff of ITCO expressed vote of thanks to all for their active participation and involvement in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Tibet Support Groups (TSGs) Office Bearers from India Tibet Friendship Society (ITFS), Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM), Himalayan Committee for Action on Tibet (HIMCAT), National Campaign for Tibet Support (NCFTS), Antarrashtriya Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Samiti (ABTSS), Youth Liberation Front for Tibet (YLFT) and Himalaya Pariwar.
On Sunday 21 July 2019, Core Group for Tibetan Cause also convened a meeting of National and Regional Conveners of the group at Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi.
Mr. Choney Tsering, the staff of India Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO) welcomed the members present in the meeting. Shri R. K. Khrimey, National Convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause gave the introductory address. He briefed the members regarding the purpose to convene the meeting in a short span of time from the last meeting of Core Group.
Shri Khrimey emphasised “Core Group for Tibetan Cause must be more active for the cause of Tibet.”
The members discussed the action taken from the last Core Group meeting and accordingly updated the group on the matter. A serious discussion regarding organizing the 60th Anniversary of Calcutta Convention on Tibet took place in the meeting and the members decided to prepare for the program from now on. It discussed meeting with the Central leaders of the Government of India in coming days to highlight and update them on the Tibetan issue and sought their help to solve it.
The meeting discussed activities and programs to be carried out by respective Tibet Support Groups (TSGs) in the coming year. The members gave their suggestions on the matter and various programs in different parts of India were fixed in order to strengthen the Tibet issue. The members also discussed the budget allocation and budget proposal for the year 2020 – 2021 for various activities and programs.
All the members present actively took part in the meeting. They shared their views and reviewed their activities; gave suggestions and opinions; took decisions on various matters and expressed their willingness to do much for the cause of Tibet.
The meeting concluded with vote of thanks to all members by Mr. Gonpo, the staff of ITCO.
The meetings of Tibet Support Groups Office Bearers and; National and Regional Conveners of Core Group for Tibetan Cause were coordinated by India Tibet Coordination Office, New Delhi.
