
New Delhi, 11 March, 2026: The opening ceremony of the three-day 24th Dokham Chushi Gangdrug General Assembly was held today at the Chushi Gangdrug Martyrs Memorial Hall in the Indian capital, New Delhi.
The ceremony was graced by several prominent figures, including Chief Guest Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen, representing the Standing Committee of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile; Special Guest Tashi Dekyi, Secretary of the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (Delhi); Official Representatives, Members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile; Pema Drubwang, President of Dokham Chushi Gangdrug; and Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, former Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament.
Other attendees included former parliamentarians, the Office Secretary of the Delhi Tibetan Settlement Office, auditors, the President of the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, the head of the Ex-Army Association, representatives from the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC) and the Tibetan Women’s Association (RTWA), newly elected members of the 24th Central Executive Committee, monastery administrators, and delegates from various regions.
During the event, Chief Guest Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen officially launched the new Chushi Gangdrug website and delivered a keynote address related to the significance of the assembly.
Special Guest Tashi Dekyi inaugurated a new book authored by Nyima Chodon titled, ‘The Chu Bzhi Sgang Drug Resistance Movement Against the Chinese Occupation of Tibet (June 1958 To April 1959).’
The ceremony concluded successfully with the presentation of awards and certificates of appreciation to long-time financial supporters and individuals who have performed outstanding service for the Dokham Chushi Gangdrug organisation.
