DHARAMSHALA: Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel of the Tibetan Parliament today condoled the demise of veteran actor and politician Shri Vinod Khanna who passed away on 27 April 2017.
“It is with heavy heart that we got the news about passing away of your husband. I, on behalf of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, offer my heartfelt condolences at the sad demise of Mr. Vinod Khanna,” he wrote.
“In December 2005, Mr. Khanna attended the Felicitation Ceremony held in honor of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, which was organized by The All Party Indian Parliamentary Forum for Tibet (APIPFT) at Parliament House Annexe in New Delhi. Since then, he met Tibetan Parliamentary delegations for several times at Delhi and become a staunch supporter of the Tibetan cause.”
“Again in December 2014, during a meeting with delegations from Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, he expressed his deep solidarity for the just cause of Tibet. With his demise, we lost a valuable friend and for no doubt, it is an irreparable loss for Indian Film Industries and the Indian government as a whole.”
“The Tibetan people stands with you and your family in this hour of grief and sorrow. We will feel his absence and will remember him in our prayers,” he added.
