Leh Ladakh: In response to the latest COVID-19 outbreak which left 30 residents infected at Sonamling’s Old Age Home, the Settlement Office in coordination with the local Indian Directorate of Health Services has provided emergency medical supplies: 2 sanitising machines, 718 hand sanitizers, 950 gloves, 850 N95 masks, 10 oxygen cylinders, 667 goggles, 2 sodium hypochlorite cylinders of 5-litre each and 870 PPE kits.
Apart from that, the settlement office had managed to enlist volunteer health workers and other volunteers to aid in response measures. Central and state authorities have traced 220 people who came into contact with the staff and the infected at the Old Age Home who has been tested at free of cost and those confirmed positive with severe symptoms have been admitted to the hospital where they are being provided free treatment.
