Dharamshala: On 21 November 2024, Secretary Dhondul Dorjee of the Department of Religion and Culture, Central Tibetan Administration, attended the 20th founding anniversary celebration of the Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) School, Chauntra as its chief guest.
The celebration was also attended by Tibetan Parliamentarian Serta Tsultrim, TCV President Sonam Sichoe, the Education Director of TCV, the President of the Local Tibetan Assembly, Tibetan Settlement Officers from the region, representatives from local monasteries, Principals and Headmasters of other local schools, and representatives of Tibetan Civil Societies.
The event began at 9:45 AM with a traditional welcome ceremony, followed by a speech from the School Principal.
Before his address, Secretary Dhondul Dorjee presented certificates to students who had participated in the TCV inter-school dialectic debate. He also awarded certificates to two outstanding students recognised for academic excellence and presented awards to staff members who had completed 25 and 30 years of service.
Following the awards ceremony, the school’s troupe, consisting of both teachers and students, performed a Tibetan opera depicting the stories of Princess Wencheng and Princess Bhrikuti.
After lunch, the ‘Smart Children Initiative Project (Young Learners Lounge)’ was inaugurated in the boys’ and girls’ dormitories.
