Dharamshala: The school leaders’ professional learning community (PLC) meeting cum workshop was hosted by Sambhota Tibetan School, Mundgod on 29 September 2021 under the guidance of the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) for the first time. 12 school leaders comprising of Principal, head-teachers, assistant head-teachers of schools in Mundgod and Department of Education (DoE) South Zone Counselor, Mr. Jamyang Wangyal participated in the meeting.
The PLC meeting was coordinated by Principal Mr. Sangpo Rinzin of the host school. As requested by the coordinator, Mr. Tenzin Dorjee, Head of Academic Section of DoE, CTA gave the keynote opening remarks virtually. In his opening remarks, he underlined the importance of responsibilities that school leader’s shoulder in enhancing the professional development of teachers and improving student learning. He stressed on the need to work collaboratively to learn from each other and support each other to enhance their leadership skills.
Later, the PLC meeting was honour virtually by the guest Speaker, Mr. M. M. Swami, Chief Administrative Officer of BEST International Business College, Bengaluru on the importance and functions of PLC. Further constructive ideas and the historical background of each school were shared by PLC Members for the overall development of the school and in particular about the student learning and achievement.
The host principal, on behalf of the participants, paid his sincere thanks to Mr. Tenzin Dorjee for the Keynote opening remarks and Mr. M. M. Swami for the presentation.
