Shri Sandesh Meshram, a long time friend of Tibet who is also one of the Regional Conveners of Core Group for the Tibetan Cause – India (CGTC-I); the apex body of Tibet Support Groups in India and a member of India Tibet Friendship Society (ITFS) – Nagpur has started his cycle rally tilted JAN JAGRAN CYCLE YATRA SOUTH INDIA with the message of FREE TIBET, SAVE INDIA from Mundgod, Karnataka on 10th December, 2021 covering the Southern States of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry concluding at Bengaluru, Karnataka on 12th January, 2022.
Prior to this, Shri Meshram had organised cycle yatras in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019 covering almost a total distance of 13,770 kms till now. Shri Meshram’s FOURTH JAN JAGRAN CYCLE YATRA in 2019 was scheduled to pass through Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry also but due to Shri Meshram’s health problem during the journey; he had to reschedule the yatra abandoning the mentioned Southern States. Hence, he has organised the cycle rally JAN JAGRAN CYCLE YATRA (SOUTH INDIA) to complete his unfinished campaign for the Tibetan cause.
The main purpose of his cycle yatra is to create awareness among the general Indian masses about Tibet and its hard realities prevailing under the brutal occupation of Tibet by the Chinese Communist Government especially in South India. This CYCLE YATRA would also engage in re-strengthening of centuries old relations between India and Tibet and educate the masses that India shares a border with Tibet, not with CHINA.
Shri Sandesh Meshram has resumed Jan Jagran Cycle Yatra from Mundgod Tibetan Settlement on the auspicious occasion of the Celebration of Nobel Peace Prize to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and also International Human Rights Day on 10th December, 2021.
