
Geneva, Switzerland: On 25 November 2025, in Geneva, a meeting was held with René Longet, President of the French-speaking section of the Swiss Tibetan Friendship Association (GSTF), and Cédric Jeanneret, Member of the Geneva Cantonal Parliament. The meeting was attended by Representative Thinley Chukki and UN Advocacy Officer Phuntsok Topgyal from the Office of Tibet, Geneva.
Representative Thinley Chukki provided updates on the situation inside Tibet, highlighting several key issues of mutual concern. Both sides explored potential avenues for future collaboration with GSTF, including coordinated advocacy efforts and community-based programmes.
The discussions also addressed the Swiss government’s report on transnational repression, matters related to the Tibetan weekend school in Geneva, and preparations for the upcoming Geneva Forum. Deputy Jeanneret reaffirmed his support for the Tibet cause and expressed readiness to assist with future initiatives at the local government level.
Following this engagement, Representative Thinley Chukki and UN Advocacy Officer Phuntsok Topgyal met with representatives of the World Lutheran Federation (LWF) to explore further opportunities for collaboration and to strengthen joint international engagement on Tibetan people’s struggle for freedom and justice. During the meeting, she also presented Voice for the Voiceless, the latest book by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, as a gesture of goodwill.
