Zurich: On 21 June 2026, Representative Thinlay Chukki of the Tibet Bureau in Geneva participated in a symposium in Zurich focusing on the practical implementation of the far-sighted vision and enduring commitments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The event was organised to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Domey Association of Switzerland.
Other distinguished speakers included former Envoy of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Kelsang Gyaltsen, and Dr. Gyalo, a social scientist and prominent critic of the Chinese government’s colonial-style state-run boarding school system in Tibet.
During the discussion, Representative Thinlay Chukki shared her perspectives on the current state of support for the Tibetan cause in Europe and its future prospects, drawing on her own experiences. She emphasised that every Tibetan has a responsibility to contribute to the Tibetan struggle and called for collective efforts to advance the cause.
Dr. Gyalo spoke on the evolving situation in China and its implications for Tibet’s future, while former Envoy Kelsang Gyaltsen underscored the importance of fostering a shared sense of identity among Tibetans living in Europe and highlighted its significance for the community.
The symposium concluded successfully with an engaging question-and-answer session involving participants.
