Canberra: The Tibet Office in Canberra extends heartfelt congratulations to Brisbane-based, Grammy-nominated Tibetan artist Tenzin Choegyal for his album “Snow Flower,” which has been nominated for Best World Music Album at the 2025 ARIA Awards—one of the most prestigious honours in the Australian music scene.
Congratulating Choegyal on his achievement, Representative Karma Singey said,” This recognition is a matter of pride not just for you, but for Tibetans living in Australia and beyond. A nomination at this level is a powerful moment of cultural pride and visibility and a source of inspiration for many young Tibetan artists.”
Expressing great joy over the nomination, Choegyal said, “I feel incredibly honoured that Snow Flower has been nominated for ARIA’s Best World Music Album. I dedicate this to the “Year of Compassion”, which Tibetans and Friends of Tibet around the world are observing this year in honour of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birth anniversary.”
The nominated album “Snow Flower” is a poignant exploration of life’s impermanence, beautifully rendered in Tibetan and played on the dranyen, a traditional Tibetan lute-guitar. Inspired by Tibetan Buddhist concepts of compassion and love, the album offers a sanctuary of sound for inner peace and reflection.
The 2025 ARIA Awards ceremony will be held at the Sydney Opera House later this year, celebrating excellence across the Australian music industry.
