Tokyo: Representative Dr. Arya Tsewang Gyalpo of the Office of Tibet attended a talk and peace march to commemorate Human Rights Day and call to respect human rights in Asia and worldwide. A committee, “Respect Human Rights in Asia,” organized the talk and the peace march at Tokyo Women`s Plaza Hall.
Representatives from Tibetan Community, SFT, East-Turkistan, South-Mongolia, Hongkong, Taiwan, Chinese Democracy Movement, Taiwan, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, and Japanese supporters attended the event. They delivered speeches on the importance of human rights and how it is being violated in the respective countries.
Dr. Arya thanked the organizers for the opportunity to talk at the event, and he briefly spoke on how human rights was upheld, endorsed, and signed by most of the country 73 years ago at the United Nations. He briefed the audience on how China, who signed the declaration, violated human rights in Tibet and other occupied regions.
“Human rights violation in any country should not be treated as an isolated issue; it should be seen as a global problem. The fact that we have all come together to highlight human rights violations in our respective countries is an important step to inform the international community and to condemn the dictatorial regimes.” He said.
Representative Dr. Arya announced the publication of Japanese version of the book “100 Atrocities by CCP in Tibet”. He said the book is a testament to the 100 major atrocities and crimes perpetrated by the communist regime in Tibet.
Representatives from other occupied territories, including Taiwan and Hong Kong, condemned the Chinese communist party leadership for their harsh and repressive policy. Uighur representative spoke on the genocide situation in the region. South Mongolia representative called for a boycott of the 2022 Beijing Olympics. Myanmar, Cambodia, and Thailand spoke on the human rights violations in the areas and how China is supporting these despotic regimes.
A peace march followed the talk event. Some 200 people walked around Tokyo street raising slogans and condemning China for its gross violation of human and religious rights in China and the occupied regions. In addition, many denounced China for supporting and instigating other authoritative regimes in Asia and other regions around the world.
