
New Delhi: The Department of Education, CTA today conducted the General Written Test in Tibetan (GWTT), at Tibetan Youth Hostel in New Delhi) and Bangalore on 6 April. The applicants also appeared for the TOEFL ITP Test at the centre approved by Tibet Fund.
Of the 90 students competing in the test, 50 are women and 40 men.
The result of GWTT & TOEFL (ITP) will be announced in May and thereafter, top 30 qualified applicants will be called for an interview in Dharamshala on 21 May. The final selected candidates will leave for the United States in the fall of 2020.
The Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP) is one of the most important scholarship programs for the Tibetans in exile, and it has produced more than 450 graduates in different field of studies over the last 31 years. These graduates have served the Central Tibetan Administration and many are still serving in the various departments under CTA and different organisations in Tibetan communities.
The TSP program is funded by U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), and is administered through a Cooperative Agreement with The Tibet Fund (TTF), in collaboration with the Central Tibetan Administration’s Department of Education (DoE).
