SHIMLA: As part of the ‘Thank You India 2018’ campaign announced by the Kashag, the Chief Representative’s Office in Shimla organised a ‘Pray for India’ event on 29 May to coincide with the auspicious Buddha Purnima Day ( 15th Day of Saka Dawa).
The prayer service was held at Dorje Drak monastery in Shimla from 10:00 AM. The chief guest at the prayer service was Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Deputy Mayor. Other guests at the service include Councillors Kimi Sood, Puran, Vidhushi Sharma, former Councillor Pradeep Singh, etc.
Chief Representative Tenzin Norbu explained the significance of the day (Saka dawa) and spoke about the the Kashag’s thank you India campaign including the pray for India event to express gratitude to the government and people of India.
Venerable Namdol Yarphel from Dorje Drak monastery delivered the vote of thanks at the prayer service. The prayer service was attended by members of the Tibetan community along with monks from monasteries in the area.
