KULLU: As a part of Thank You India 2018 programme with a jointly initiated by Dagpo Shedrupling Monastery- Kias, Kullu-Manali Tibetan Settlement Office (TSO) and public in Kullu district has organised day with luncheon, blood donation, Kheer (sweets), juice to in-patients, their care-takers, out-patients, and hospital staff and local Indian Public at Civil Hospital, Kullu on 11 July 2018.
Kullu-Manali Tibetans and concern camp leaders, Dagpo Shedrupling Monastery, Von Ngari Monastery, Sambhota Tibetan School teachers, TCV Patlikuhl School staff and Regional Tibetan Youth Congress members have participated in the programme.
Juice was served to Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Naresh and Senior Doctors along with Tibetan Settlement Officer and Administrator of Dagpo Monastery at the beginning of the day. Followed by serving of Kheer (Sweets) and juice to all the local Indian public present on that day till 02:30 pm.
As per requisition made by the head of the hospital blood bank department Dr Ramesh Guleria mentioned, a total number of 25 donors including monks of Dagpo Monastery, Von Ngari Monastery, Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and the public has voluntarily donated blood at Blood Bank to the hospital. He further stated that the Tibetans donors have made a kind deed by donating blood at the time where there is a scarcity of blood at the Blood Bank of Civil Hospital, Kullu.
From 12:00 pm -4:30 pm, Tibetans served lunch to 320 in-patients by serving them on their bed at concerned wards of the hospital. TSO also served lunch to approx. of 500 caretakers and 250-300 staffs of the hospital and more than hundred outpatients and 500-600 Local Indian Public at venue ground in front of Eye Ward of Civil Hospital- Kullu.
The event was covered in local Hindi newspapers. Hospital administrators and public appreciated and lauded for such a gesture of feeding the people in vast number.
