DHARAMSHALA: Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association, India Tibet Support Groups and Dharamsala Tibetan Settlement Office organised a panel discussion at Hotel Tibet on 17 May 2018. The panel discussion was held to mark 23 Years of Enforced Disappearance of the 11th Panchen Lama: Gedhun Choekyi Nyima. It was chaired by Mr. Ram Swaroop, Advisor of Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association, Dharamsala.
During the discussion, Subash Nehria, Advisor for Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association and Kalden Tsomo, Staff of Human Rights Desk, Department of Information and International Relations, were the two panelists. Ven. Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, Advisor for Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association and Vice-Chairman of Tibetan Parliament in Exile and Dawa Rinchen, Vice-President of Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association and Tibetan Settlement Officer of Dharamsala attended the discussion.
Around a hundred participants were present at the panel discussion. Among them, a majority were Indians and staff of Tibetan NGOs of Dharamsala. Panelists Subash Nehria and Kalden Tsomo gave talks on ‘Perspective on the Panchen Gedhun Choekyi Nyima’ and Tibet’s 11th Panchen Lama, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima. During the panel discussion, few participants raised questions on 11th Panchen Lama, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima.
