Department of Education(DoE) is organising one month NEET crash course for students aspiring to become Doctor every year in South and North India. This year the coaching is being done at Tigadi Coaching Center, Dharwad for South Zone Tibetan school from 25 March to 30 April and for North Zone Tibetan Schools students from 4 April to 3 May respectively at Aakash Educational Services Ltd, Dehradun.
This crash coaching is organised with a special purpose to produce more Doctor in our community as we are lacking trained and professional doctors in our hospitals and Tibetan Settlements. So this year thirty students aspiring to become Doctors are selected to receive this coaching and are enrolled in a one-month intensive course to facilitate them to crack the competitive National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). This year, the selection was done from CST Mussorie, THF Mussorie, TCV Selakui, STS Mundgod, and TCV Bylakuppe. DoE aims to cover the six reserve MBBS seats provided to us by the Central Govt of India and Himachal State Government every year. The students will appear for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on 5 May 2019 and result is likely to be available on 5 June 2019.
South Zone Counsellor Jayang paid a visit to South Zone coaching centre and DoE Dealing staff Lobsang Dhargyal paid a visit to North Zone coaching center for monitoring and listen to students feedback. Lobsang also breif them about the MBBS reserve seats alloted to us by Government of India(GoI) and on various other scholarships.
At present DoE has 18 students who are pursuing their career in Doctor studying in various seats provided by Govt of India namely at Sarojini Naidu Medical College –Agra, Dr Rajendra Prasad Govt. Medical College, Tanda, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College Chamba, Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla, Dr Radakrishna Govt Medical College Harmirpur and Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar Govt Medical College, Nahan.
