27th February 2020, London: The Office of Tibet and The Tibet House Trust, London hosted a Losar luncheon reception to representatives from Buddhist centres in the UK to celebrate the Tibetan New Year 2147.
The celebration inside the Office of Tibet brought together Rinpoche, lamas, trustees, and staff from 10 Buddhist centres in the UK and a representative from the Council Members of the Tibetan Community in Britain.
The program began with a Long Life Prayer for His Holiness the Dalai Lama followed by featuring a short video clip of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Losar message in the past year.
Rep. Sonam Tsering Frasi addressed the guests and stated the good health of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He then informed that he seeks to have an open discussion to examine how the Tibetan Buddhist Centres can promote and further the study of Buddhism in the host country.
“Since His Holiness has reduced most of his long distant foreign travels, we try our best to outreach our friends from dharma centers and the larger public to spread the words of His Holiness and particularly his four commitments”, he said.
Mr. Frasi spoke about China’s meddling with the reincarnation of the 14th Dalai Lama and read out the resolution of the 14th Tibetan religious conference held in Dharamsala last year to be publicised by the Tibetan Buddhist Centres.
“We call this Losar (Tibetan New Year) gathering to meet one another and share our thoughts for future collaboration and friendship”, he added and thanked the participants.
Following the program, interactive discussions and sharing of experiences among guests and staff of the Office of Tibet took place.
