Office of Tibet in Brussels, Along with Lungta Tibet Support Group Participated in 3 Days Multi-cultural Festival in Belgium
Brussels: The Under Secretary, Tenzin Nordhen, represented Office of Tibet, Brussels at the 3 day Multi Cultural Festival on 30 May 2025 in the heart of Mariakerke-Oostende, Belgium, on the invitation of our long-time friends of Tibet, Lungta, Tibet Support Group in Belgium.
The event was a multicultural festival featuring performances from various communities, including Tibet, Burundi, Cuba, Peru, and Pakistan. As a part of the celebration, Office of Tibet, Brussels with the help of Lungta and V-TAG Belgium, promoted the ‘Blue Book’ project of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and raised awareness about the Tibetan cause.
Our stall was abuzz with activity as we distributed Blue Book brochures to around 30 interested individuals. We were delighted to see some new friends of Tibet join the Blue Book project on the spot, eager to learn more about our community and support our cause.
The highlight of the event was the celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday. Lungta had organised a beautiful birthday card initiative, where children drew hand contours and wrote heartfelt messages for His Holiness. We were touched by the outpouring of love and support for the spiritual leader of Tibet. The festival also featured a fun-filled Tambola game, where every player won a different prize related to Tibet. This engaging activity brought people together, fostering a sense of community and sparking interest in Tibetan culture
As a token of our appreciation, we presented Lungta with a special gift – a book titled “Voice for the Voiceless” by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. This gesture symbolized our deep gratitude for their unwavering support over the years.
The Jamyang Lophel Weekend School of Belgium’s traditional Tibetan food stall was a huge hit, raising funds to support their activities. We were grateful for their contribution to the festival’s success.
The event had brought people together, promoting cross-cultural understanding and supporting the Tibetan cause. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Lungta and other like-minded organisations to promote the well-being and rights of the Tibetan people.
