New Book For Annual Contribution Launched
Dharamsala 4 March, 2005:The work of upgrading the green book for collection of voluntary contribution by the Central Tibetan Administration from the Tibetan people has been going on for the last two years. The new and upgraded book was launched yesterday at a modest function by the Department of Finance.

Mr. Pema Jungney and Ms. Gyari Dolma, Chairman and Vice Chairperson of the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies (ATPD), Kalon Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche and his colleagues in the Kashag, members of the standing committee of the ATPD, secretaries of the various departments and members of the local Tibetan Freedom Movement attended the function held at the Gankyi staff mess.
An annual voluntary contribution from the Tibetan public to the Central Tibetan Administration began to be collected on 1st August 1972 after a need of a regular source of income for the administration was felt.
Kalon Lobsang Nyandak, Minister of Finance, told the gathering that the 12th Kashag felt it important to ensure a rise in the collection of voluntary contribution and foolproof method of collection.
The department started a project two years ago to built a computer database of Tibetans paying the annual contribution.
