Dharamshala: Tibetan Parliamentarian Tenzing Jigme from North and South America successfully concluded his official visits to Chicago, IL, and Madison, WI from 15 to 18 November 2024.
From 15 to 18 November, Parliamentarian Tenzing Jigme conducted an official visit to Chicago, Illinois, and Madison, Wisconsin, engaging with Tibetan youth and community members.
On 16 November 2024, Parliamentarian Jigme addressed Tibetan youth in Chicago, emphasising the importance of their active participation and the critical role they play in the Tibetan Freedom Struggle. Later in the evening, he spoke to the broader Tibetan community in Chicago, followed by a question-and-answer session, allowing the public to engage directly with him.
On 17 November 2024, he visited Madison, where he met with students at the Tibetan culture school in the morning. He underscored the significance of preserving Tibetan language and identity. In the afternoon, he held a public talk for community members, which was followed by a session for questions and suggestions.
Throughout his visit, Parliamentarian Jigme called for unity and collective responsibility in strengthening the Tibetan movement. He also provided insights into the structure and evolution of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, fostering a deeper understanding of its role in the struggle for Tibetan freedom.
