Choepheling, Miao: Shri. Tapir Gao , Hon’ble Member of Parliament- Lok Sabha the Lower House of India’s bicameral parliament visited Choephelling Tibetan Settlement on Thursday where his arrival was warmly received by Rinzin Dorjee, Chairman of Local Tibetan Assembly, Tenzin Rangdol, Officiating Tibetan Settlement Officer, Tashi Dhondup, Chairman of Boards of Director of Cooperative Society Choephelling Miao and respective camp leaders.
MP Gao stated that his visit on short notice was to see the settlement since he had not visited it earlier and further mentioned that being a national executive member of the BJP and Member of Lok Sabha representing Arunachal ( East), he is frequently visited by Members of Tibetan Parliament in Exile while in Delhi on many occasions. As such, upon invitation of some members of Tibetan Parliament, he made this visit to offer any assistance and support required by the Tibetan residents.
He made an enquiry about the grievances faced by the residents and asked them to submit it to the concerned offices and also keep in touch with him to follow up with the matters especially in establishing an areca nut leaves disposal unit as proposed by the residents which require minimal assistance from the state to produce recyclable cups and plates that are in trends these days.
Meanwhile, MP Gao applauded the settlement for its self-reliance. He was felicitated with a small souvenir of carpet which was weaved in the carpet section in the settlement.
