Dharamshala: Member of the 16th Tibetan parliament, Khenpo Jamphal Tenzin on Monday donated essential food supplies of worth over 1 lakh to 53 destitute Tibetans including 29 destitute households and 24 destitute elderlies of Kollegal Tibetan settlement, according to the Settlement Office of Dhondeling Kollegal.
The supplies were distributed with the coordination of the camp leaders and representatives of local monastery.
Khenpo Jamphal Tenzin said the Central Tibetan Administration, through its destitute of programs of Home, Education and Health department has been looking after the overall welfare of the destitute people and especially to provide for their needs in the time of crisis, CTA has recently distributed relief money for the destitute.
However, as a fellow Tibetan, he said it was his responsibility to extend a helping hand and express his solidarity with the Tibetan people and the CTA.
