
Dharamshala: Parliamentarian Geshe Ngawa Gangri, representing the Standing Committee of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, attended as the Chief Guest at the inauguration of the National Democratic Party of Tibet’s (NDPT) 10th General Body Meeting, held earlier this morning on 24 November 2025. The meeting is scheduled to take place from 24–25 November 2025 at the Tibetan Settlement Office Hall in Dharamshala.
The event was also graced by Special Guests Parliamentarian Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar, former Deputy Speaker Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, Tibetan Youth Congress President Tsering Choephel, along with other guests including NDPT Advisor Thupten Nyendak, heads of Tibetan NGOs, and various dignitaries.
During the event, Parliamentarian Geshe Ngawa Gangri emphasised the importance of NDPT and its role in fulfilling the aspirations of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He also highlighted the crucial role of NGOs in confronting individuals or groups who attempt to defame His Holiness. Meanwhile, Parliamentarian Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar spoke about the organisation of the NDPT event and its programme arrangements during elections.
Additionally, former Deputy Speaker Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok shared insights on the early formation of NDPT. TYC President Tsering Choephel discussed the relationship between NGOs and their future strategic plans. Advisor Thupten Nyendak addressed topics relevant to the meeting, followed by NDPT President Gedun Tsephel, who introduced the organization and its initiatives. The closing remarks were delivered by NDPT Vice President Tsering Namgyal.
