Jawalakhel, Nepal: As per the appointment notice issued by Kashag, dated 24 October, Karma Soepa Thinley took charge of the Jawalakhel Handicraft Center from the outgoing director Tashi Tseten.
The handing-over ceremony between the outgoing and the new director took place on Wednesday, 26 October, administered by official witness Karma Gyaltsen, settlement officer of Gyalphak Tibetan Settlement. In attendance were the chair and vice-chair of the Local Tibetan Assembly, the president of the Cooperative society, representatives of NGOs, the president of the Handicraft Committee, and the president of Norling Sports Club.
The next day, the new director Karma Soepa visited the settlement’s monastery and offered prayers, followed by a visit to the local Tibetan school, old age home, nursery etc. On the third day, the official witness introduced the Tibetan residents of Jawalkhel, the new director of the handicraft centre.
