8 Sept. 2020, New Delhi: A webinar titled “Tibbat Ki Azadi, Bharat Ki Suraksha” was organized by India Tibet Friendship Society (ITFS), Bihar on 8 September, 2020. The webinar was chaired by Dr Harendra Kumar, Vice-President, ITFS Bihar and the proceedings of the webinar was conducted by Shri Surendra Kumar, General Secretary, ITFS Bihar and also the National Co-Convener of Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India.
In spite of some technical problem before the start of the webinar, a good number of Tibet supporters and friends including Prof. Vikas Upadhyay, Prashant Gautam and others from Muzaffarpur, Patna, Sitamadhi, Nawada, Bhagalpur, Vaishali (Hazipur), Jehanawad, Bhojpur, Sasaram and Champaran Units participated. Friends including Shri Sudesh Kumar Chandravanshi, Regional Convener of Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India from Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Palamu and Jamshedpur Units from Jharkhand also participated.
At the outset, the participants paid tribute to Shri Nyima Tenzin of Special Frontier Force (SFF) for his sacrifice and sahadat at Indo-Tibet border in Ladakh. They also expressed deep heartfelt condolence on the sad and sudden demise of Shri Harish Adyalkar, Patron of ITFS Maharashtra and his son Shri Nitin Adyalkar due to COVID-19.
The members resolved that His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama should be honoured and conferred with BHARAT RATNA by the Government of India. They also expressed that His Holiness should be invited to address the joint session of the Parliament of India. It was resolved that the Government of India should take a firm stand on Indo-Tibet border in both the sectors i.e. Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh and the People’s Liberation Army(PLA) of China should be pushed back to 1950 position according to a unanimous resolution passed by the Indian Parliament on 14 November 1962. Tibet’s freedom struggle should be given unconditional support. The members decided to organize an awakening program on Tibbat Mukti Sadhana and liberation of Indian territory from Chinese occupation from 20th October to 20th November 2020 (period of a Chinese attack on India in 1962). They also decided for a campaign to make aware different political parties and ensure their support for Tibetan Cause during the Bihar Assembly Election in Sept-Oct. 2020.
Mr Jigmey Tsultrim, Coordinator of India Tibet Coordination Office, Delhi also addressed the webinar and gave suggestions to strengthen the organisation and its programmes for Tibbat Mukti Sadhna. His contribution to the webinar was of great value.
Dr Harendra Kumar presented the concluding remarks and Shri Prabhat Kumar gave the vote of thanks to all for their participation.
