26 Sept. 2020, New Delhi: Inspired by fellow Tibetan’s activism in various countries around the world, Tibetan trio,Tsering Wangdue, Tsering Dhondup and Chungdak who had set out on Peace March from Manali to Delhi on 23 Sept 2020 were grandly welcomed and received near Paddal Ground, Mandi by the Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association (ITFA), Mandi and Tibetan community members. The three main demands of the Peace March are:
1)Spreading awareness on Tibet and its plight as well as to garner global support to promote the return of exiled Tibetan leader, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to Tibet,
2)Push for talks between Tibetan and Chinese sides through the Middle Way Approach, and
3)Immediate release of all the incarcerated political prisoners inside Tibet, especially the 11th Panchen Lama Gendhun Choekyi Nyima
Shri Vishal Thakur, Vice President, ITFA Mandi; Shri Dinesh Sharma, Secretary, ITFA Mandi; Jitendra Sharma Prasad, Mr. Ngawang Dhondup, President, Local Tibetan Assembly, Mandi; Mr. Sonam Dhondup, President, RTYC Mandi; Ms. Loyang, RTWA Mandi and others spoke on the occasion and fully supported the Peace March.
Shri Vishal Thakur on behalf of ITFA Mandi requested the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi to confer India’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
